ACADEMIC CHALLENGE: MATH CHALLENGE
DUE FRIDAY, APRIL 21, 2017
In this Challenge, the student must complete 8 hours of extra math work using a math program of your choice or one of the suggestions detailed below.
There are several ways to complete the 8 additional hours of math. Children are encouraged, but not required, to use a combination of options to ensure a broad exposure to math. Various options include:
- Dreambox (Grades K-3) : Click here for instructions on how to access DreamBox from home.
- Khan Academy (Grades K-5) : Click here.
- Math Facts – Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, Division (Grades K-5)
Please note: Dreambox will be used in the classrooms.
The time spent in the classroom cannot be used towards the EIGHT HOURS OF MATH.
You must complete this time at home.
Step 1: Download the “Math Challenge Activity Log” and use this to keep track of each activity completed during the year.
Step 2: Complete a section of time or activity.
Step 3: Record your time on the “Math Challenge Activity Log” until you reach 480 minutes (8 hours).
Step 4: Once 8 hours (or 480 minutes) is complete, Parent/Guardian send an email to email@example.com with detailed log of time spent doing math. Please ensure the subject is in the following format “Student Name – Math Final Submission – Grade – Teacher’s name”
Complete all online forms by Friday, April 21st.
